COST SHARE GUIDELINES

FARM LAND AND RANGE

  • Cost Share is subject to the availability of funds – approval of application shall be made upon a determination of funds.
  • Cost Share 50% up to $7,500 (receipts must be at least $15,000 to qualify for the $7,500) max per FY
  • No one individual will be able to receive cost share 2 years in a row
  • Farmed last 2 out of 5 crop years (FSA crop years)
  • NRCS will check out installed practice – must meet NRCS standards & Specs
  • NRCS approved practices for Cost Share can include – but not limited to: land leveling, irrigation pipelines, gated pipes, side roll sprinklers, solid set sprinklers, livestock storage tanks, fiberglass livestock storage or range pipelines.
  • Cost share practice can NOT be started prior to application approval.

BRUSH CONTROL GUIDELINES

  • Brush Control Cost Share is subject to the availability of funds – approval of application shall be made upon a determination of funds.
  • Brush Control Cost Share – 50% up to $7,500 chemical costs (receipts must be at least $15,000 to qualify for the $7,500) max per FY.
  • No one individual will be able to receive cost share 2 years in a row.
  • Must meet NRCS standards & Specs.  NRCS will check out completed practice.
  • NRCS approved practices for Brush Control can include – but not limited to:  mesquite, salt cedar, broom snakeweed, juniper or cactus.

EQIP/Grant associated Cost Share applications.

  • Starting 9/9/2024 Chaves SWCD will now accept cost share applications for Grant/EQIP related projects.
  • $30,000. 00 will be allocated to these types of applications from the existing budget.
  • Applications are accepted on a first come first serve basis and reviewed/ voted on by the board at monthly meetings. Approval will be based on availability of funds. 
  • Cost Share will be 50% up to $5000.00 for all EQIP and Grant related applications.
  • No one individual will be able to receive cost share 2 years in a row, OR more than one EQIP application period.
  • Must meet NRCS standards & Specs.  NRCS will check out completed practice.
  • Farm Land & Range / Brush Qualifications still apply as listed above.

*Cost Share applications which are in conjunction with EQIP or Grant related funding must check the appropriate box on the application as those applications are subject to be reviewed separately. EUIP/Grant Contract must be submitted with receipts of projects before payments can be made.
